Coming Soon: Primus Express Spider Multi-Fuel Stove
December 21, 2011
It’s that time of year when the manufacturers announce their new models. Swedish camping cooker manufacturer Primus recently announced a new £100 lightweight multi-fuel burner with the rather catchy (not!) name of ‘Primus Express Spider Multi-Fuel’.
According to Primus it can run on both gas cartridges or white gas and weighs just 175 grammes. It’s based on the liquid fuel burning Primus Express Spider Remote stove (which is also known as the Primus Express Lander in some markets), but is more than 20g lighter thanks to the increased use of aluminium in its construction. The ability to burn gas makes it more versatile, especially if you’re in the market for a liquid fuel stove for overseas use which you can also use for weekends away in the UK.
Whilst the stove folds down to a compact size for stowage it’s still stable enough to accommodate two-litre pots. It also features a pre-heating tube that directs fuel over the burner for better cold weather performance, a precision simmer control and comes with a heat reflector.
As soon as we get hold of one for test we’ll write a full review.
